Too fast little man

sigh...i mean big heavy sigh....

how come time flies?

Last year on this exact date...my son looked a little something like this...

and the year before...something like this...

cute. baby-ish, chubby cheeked fella.

but today.

My tiny 7 lb 9 oz little baby boy looks like this...

I know. I am starting to see a little boy...not a toddler, not a baby...but a boy.

sigh. i mean BIG sigh.

One day. He will be mowing with daddy's John Deere tractor...

He will be driving a REAL car...

and he will be working at a REAL job.

Time is going so fast...so very, VERY fast...

SLOW DOWN LITTLE BOY!

I don't want you to get too big on me!

Tricia In Wonderland

If you haven't heard...we went to France...

No. no. no.
That is wrong...

If you haven't heard...we stayed in the French Hen Cabin...In Guthrie

It was beautiful.

We had a candlelit dinner, danced a little, soaked in the jaccuzzi, and talked...
Big people talk...no talking about diapers, no wiping noses, no bubble baths ...No eating plastic chicken nuggets, or playing cars or tractors

Important talk that makes you appreciate each other, and remember why you are so crazy in love.

I think it had been exactly two years since our last getaway...well overdue...perfectly amazing in every way.

I do love my children...but 24 hours...with my husband...in a beautiful cabin in the snow blanketed woods...priceless.

Round Robin

2:09 AM

Yes, yes I know weird time to be writing a blog...even weirder...MJ playing McDonalds.

Yes, I know what you are thinking...WHAT!

Me too! But I give up. I don't know what else to do. I have been playing round robin with two teething children.

The first sign of  trouble was when MJ started in at midnight crying, being the adoring mother I am, I quickly went to his rescue...and have been at his beckon call ever since. First I layed with the little man for a bit...thought I would just grab a pillow and snuggle up with him and he would drift off to dream land, then I would very slyly sneak my way out of his bed and slip into my own...WRONG

He has a horrible cough...kind of annoying if you are an innocent neighbor minding your own business in your crib...Enter crying baby #2...she was probably thinking.."excuse me sir, I do need my beauty sleep sometime tonight!"

So thus started my back and forth between their rooms...get one kid settled down, the other one starts in, get them calmed down, the the first one again...back and forth...did I mention we started at midnight?

So...after snuggling, getting water, rocking, eating yogurt, eating cereal (kid wanted cereal then took one measly bite, I had to eat the rest of it), Here we are...wide awake, well unfortunately awake, MJ just came and asked for a fruit snack...Poor guys eyes are watered from being so tired. At his request we are now watching cartoons. Little Bear is on at two...I like Little Bear

I will admit...this would under NO circumstances be considered a normal acceptable scenario...but the kid is teething...been in pain and having a fever off and on for four days now...so I will make an exception...It is not like the poor man could get decent sleep coughing like he has been...we tried.

My hopes...In an hour (or sooner) he will get so tired, he will curl up here in the recliner with me and fall asleep. Cease coughing, and we will snuggle the rest of the night. Robert will walk in to find us peacefully asleep in the chair, he will think...hmmm...she must have had a rough night. Guess I will make that "purdy" darling wife of mine a nice warm breakfast, then send her off to bed while I take care of our two sick kiddos while she gets her beauty rest.

OK...quit laughing...a girl can dream

Generally we would share this responsibility but Robert has a migraine...Note...he did let me turn in early the other night, when I myself had a headache, so I am trying to let him get some sleep so he too can get rid of his.

some unknown facts about molly

Molly Abigail Dobbs
was named after her Great Grandma (Molly Annis Dobbs) Wierd, but I didn't know Grandma's first name was really Molly until one day in the car Robert and I were going over baby names...the second I heard Molly...I just knew it would be the perfect name for her. (if we were to have a her)
Some Random Facts about Molly

Nicknames include but are not limited to...Snugglebug, Moosie, Princess, Sweetheart, and Molls

She is half a year old...yes one half of a whole year ;)

She weighs in at a whoppin' 16.02 lbs.
She loves to eat solid food...if it is in her reach...watch out!

She sleeps all night long. Just started doing that within the last couple weeks. I am not complaining though :)

She hates pacifiers...will NOT take them and strongly dislikes when you try to make her...she does however love to suck her thumb while she goes to sleep.  Yes I know a lot of people are against thumb sucking...but how cute does she look? And I never ever have to worry about her loosing her thumb.

Her activities include... crawling, eating, sitting up, and playing with MJ.

She seems like such a serious girl...doesn't smile as easily as her brother...

but when she does smile...it melts your heart.

She has her daddy's eyes...
and her mama's sense of humor!

Matthew is considered to be my "easy" child. Molly...well I consider her to be my "super easy" child. She is my angel girl!

The Magic Hand Kiss

I don't want to brag...but I have a very magical hand kiss... It can fix anything wrong with MJ.  Instantly calm any boo boo just by kissing his hand. For example...today...
My son...being the horrible driver he is, crashed....
and rolled his vehicle...NOTE...he doesn't have four wheel drive on this thing! It cannot drive up the tv stand.

In this scenario...he came up to me crying because he hurt his back...
Anywho...Mommy just happened to be playing with her camera and  caught this kodak moment just at the right time. Perfectly executed unplanned stunt to prove my point...Mommy's hand kiss

It makes everything better. No matter the size of the boo boo...ankle, toe, foot, arm, head...well you get the point, a kiss on the hand makes it all better!
Thank you mommy! (he is blowing me a kiss bye) ready to ride again!

I'll have s"more"

Smores...great idea if you have all the ingredients.
Chocolate...check, marshmallows...check...graham crackers...uh-oh!
So being the good wife and mother, I think to myself, Maybe I could make some graham crackers...so...
Chocolate...check
Marshmallows...check
Graham Crackers...check

MJ was excited...
Robert was excited....

Ok...Ok...Maybe I was a little excited too.
Anywho...snowed inside all day together...we had a pretty swell time. Played Play-doh, farmer, tractors, dinosaurs, scary monster, oohed and aahed to Molly, and watched her crawl. Ate biscuits and gravy for breakfast and some deer chili for dinner. Molly loves biscuits and gravy, guess she fits right in

It was a good day in the Dobbs home, I love snow days!

An Eleven o' Clock Grocery Run

Ah, facebook...who says it is a bad thing? How else would I have known about this up and coming "blizzard"? So, I saw a ''few" posts about snow coming...then a post about a foot of snow...well that caught my attention and I checked the weather...YIKES! It was true...And you know how the news channels like to ham up the situation...
So, I had two choices. #1...my gut instinct...go tonight. Yes I looked at the clock, saw it was eleven p.m. I had already showered and was snug in bed but...choice #2 seemed worse...go tomorrow with two kids, when everyone else and their mama's would go...and fight someone off with the diaper bag over the last loaf of bread and the last gallon of milk. So I got dressed and went to the store.
The STORE...well, I have always thought the "new" Crest to be a pretty nice grocery store, never seen one so "purdy"...I am from a small town. Anywho, this well organized colorful store was a mess! Here is my composed list of stuff I noticed missing...Yogurt. The whole case was empty...have you seen how much yogurt they generally have? Onions. Wierd but true...not a single onion in the store. I myself went prepared to purchase one...but didn't. Bread. The whole aisle dedicated to bread...pretty much empty. Boneless chicken. I didn't see this for myself but I heard a lady ask, and the stocker boy confirmed they were out of boneless chicken. Beans..You wanna make some chili eh? So does everyone else in OKC. I myself was tramatized when I saw they had no red kidney beans...but low and behold when I looked at the boxes sitting on the floor, I saw the label said red kidney beans...so I helped myself...luckily someone had already had the same idea so I didn't have to open the box. Chili Seasoning...well this time...(I had to open the box) I made sure no one was looking!
So I am sure you get the picture on the store thing which brings me to my last and final topic...the short straw. Why did mommy have to go to the store and not daddy? Daddy says " You will do a better job and get more stuff that we could actually use" Yeah I bought that mumble :) The deal was...he would stay behind and clean the fridge out while I went to the store, then he would very graciously carry in all the groceries when I arrived home. Welp. I carried in all the groceries, he fell asleep. But I forgive  him because he did work 80 hours this past week and went all the way to Georgia and back! I love that guy!
So two honeybuns, a glass of milk, and a blog later I am going to bed to see what kind of day we have tomorrow. Sorry so jumbled...it is LATE!
