An Eleven o' Clock Grocery Run

Ah, facebook...who says it is a bad thing? How else would I have known about this up and coming "blizzard"? So, I saw a ''few" posts about snow coming...then a post about a foot of snow...well that caught my attention and I checked the weather...YIKES! It was true...And you know how the news channels like to ham up the situation...
So, I had two choices. #1...my gut instinct...go tonight. Yes I looked at the clock, saw it was eleven p.m. I had already showered and was snug in bed but...choice #2 seemed worse...go tomorrow with two kids, when everyone else and their mama's would go...and fight someone off with the diaper bag over the last loaf of bread and the last gallon of milk. So I got dressed and went to the store.
The STORE...well, I have always thought the "new" Crest to be a pretty nice grocery store, never seen one so "purdy"...I am from a small town. Anywho, this well organized colorful store was a mess! Here is my composed list of stuff I noticed missing...Yogurt. The whole case was empty...have you seen how much yogurt they generally have? Onions. Wierd but true...not a single onion in the store. I myself went prepared to purchase one...but didn't. Bread. The whole aisle dedicated to bread...pretty much empty. Boneless chicken. I didn't see this for myself but I heard a lady ask, and the stocker boy confirmed they were out of boneless chicken. Beans..You wanna make some chili eh? So does everyone else in OKC. I myself was tramatized when I saw they had no red kidney beans...but low and behold when I looked at the boxes sitting on the floor, I saw the label said red kidney beans...so I helped myself...luckily someone had already had the same idea so I didn't have to open the box. Chili Seasoning...well this time...(I had to open the box) I made sure no one was looking!
So I am sure you get the picture on the store thing which brings me to my last and final topic...the short straw. Why did mommy have to go to the store and not daddy? Daddy says " You will do a better job and get more stuff that we could actually use" Yeah I bought that mumble :) The deal was...he would stay behind and clean the fridge out while I went to the store, then he would very graciously carry in all the groceries when I arrived home. Welp. I carried in all the groceries, he fell asleep. But I forgive  him because he did work 80 hours this past week and went all the way to Georgia and back! I love that guy!
So two honeybuns, a glass of milk, and a blog later I am going to bed to see what kind of day we have tomorrow. Sorry so jumbled...it is LATE!
